Position Summary:
The person in this role will be responsible for providing support and order fulfillment for our customers. As an Order Planning Specialist, you will be the liaison of information and first point of contact for our customers and sales - working with production planning, operations, and our warehouse to ensure on-time deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Review and coordinate coverage of customer orders daily; run, edit, and organize order reports.
- Handle daily logistics coordination to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Help plan steps needed to ensure product orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to align order fulfillment with production schedules via daily meetings, as well as through email and phone.
- Manage item transitions within designated processes according to circumstances surrounding the product changes.
- Effectively coordinate with customers, sales, warehouse, and operations teams share critical information as needed to ensure customer expectations are met and orders go out complete an din full.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to order status, product availability, and shipments/freight.
- Generate and analyze reports on order fulfillment, lead times, and other KPIs.
- Handle inventory-related questions, concerns, inconsistencies, etc. with appropriate parties.
- Lead the review of and potential sale of aging inventory within appropriate timelines.
- Research causes for under-delivering to customer expectations; create and execute action plans to resolve reoccurring issues.
- Facilitate connections both internally and externally across divisions/departments and direct requests accordingly.
- Work within multiple systems, both internal and external, to make decisions and/or communicate pertinent information.
- Perform other tasks assigned by Order Planning Supervisor
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience in customer service, order planning, or distribution for high volume products strongly desired.
- Working in a CPG or similar environment experience preferred.
- Strong customer focus required - demonstrated experience collaborating closely with multiple internal teams and external customers in an "order-taking" environment where planning and organizing for order fulfillment is required.
- Strong and logical analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines is a must.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency is required; you must also have strong communications skills and comfortable leading meetings.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and internal order/planning software systems.
- Must have experience in customer service, planning for order fulfillment, and/or warehouse distribution order planning.
Succession Path
- Potential to move into a level II position with expertise in respective duties, with limited leadership needed.
Qualifications:
· BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
· 2-3 years’ experience in supply chain and logistics and/or customer facing role strongly desired.
· Demonstrated strong internal and external customer focus.
· Strong and logical analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
· Proficient in computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
· Experience in logistics, supply chain, or customer service roles.
