Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a transportation engineer experienced in civil design who has a people-first mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to make a positive impact on our organization and our communities.
Overview
In this role your focus will be on deepening your technical expertise in roadway design and traffic engineering, reinforcing those technical skills by training and mentoring others, and also taking on new challenges like task leadership and getting involved in foundational aspects of project management and business development.
Technical Focus
- Background in three-dimensional roadway, intersection, interchange, or multimodal design.
- Experience working on design elements of any of the following: traffic signals, roundabouts, service interchanges, bicycle/pedestrian projects, signing and striping, and construction traffic control plans.
- Solid understanding of AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer.
- Experience in preparation and development of construction documents and supporting reports, plans, quantities, and estimates using highway design manuals, NCHRP guidelines, AASHTO policies, MUTCD, and local design criteria.

- Technical proficiency in transportation design and/or operations related to the focus areas mentioned above.
- Consultant mindset (e.g., anticipate needs, accurately read audience, creative problem-solving, resourcefulness, etc.).
- Highly effective time prioritization.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients/teaming partners/industry professionals.
- Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.
Qualifications
- 4-8 years of experience related to technical focus areas referenced above.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where you will primarily deliver work or EIT with the expectation to obtain PE within one year.
- Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.
Compensation and Benefits

The range for this position is $95,000-125,000, which is a combination of your base salary plus an employer-funded 401K retirement contribution. Position in this range is determined by candidate’s experience and office location.
