Salary: $87,000 - $110,000 annually
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to design, implement, and oversee evidence-based behavioral interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other complex behavioral and mental health needs. This role works closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered, data-driven treatment plans that improve quality of life and promote meaningful outcomes for clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Behavioral Assessment & Treatment Planning
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Identify behavioral barriers that impact client goals and create targeted interventions to address them.
- Develop measurable behavioral goals and objectives based on the function of behavior.
- Conduct assessments in home, school, clinic, and community settings as needed.
- Utilize ABA assessment tools including:
- VB-MAPP
- ABLLS-R
- ADOS-2
- Prepare clinical assessment summaries and treatment recommendations for authorization and ongoing care.
Client Progress Monitoring
- Create data collection systems and oversee implementation by treatment staff.
- Analyze behavioral data and make treatment modifications as needed.
- Document client progress and treatment effectiveness through monthly and quarterly reports.
- Develop and maintain treatment plans and discharge plans.
- Lead regular treatment team meetings to review progress and coordinate care.
Staff Training & Supervision
- Provide initial and ongoing training to Behavior Specialists and ABA staff.
- Train staff on:
- Treatment plan implementation
- ABA session expectations
- Data collection and graphing techniques
- Positive behavior support strategies
- Prevention and de-escalation techniques
- Environmental modifications
- Mentor and support behavior professionals working toward certification.
Family & Team Collaboration
- Partner with families and caregivers to promote consistency across environments.
- Provide family training and education on behavioral strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective treatment delivery.
- Promote positive, person-centered approaches that emphasize dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a Human Services, Psychology, Education, Behavior Analysis, or related field.
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Virginia Board of Medicine licensure required for candidates practicing in Virginia.
- Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, behavioral assessments, and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
