Duration: Long term, depending on work performance
Monday to Friday (potential Saturdays and overtime)
We are seeking a skilled Arc Welder with flux-core (FCAW) experience and active 5G certification to join our team on a data center construction project in Sterling, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced welders looking for steady work on a large-scale, safety-focused project.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, erect, and align structural steel including beams, columns, and girders
- Bolt and weld steel components according to blueprints and project specifications
- Perform flux-core (FCAW) and GMAW/MIG welding to required quality standards
- Operate cutting torches and related welding equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout instructions
- Signal crane operators to safely guide steel into position
- Operate tools and equipment such as shears, hand tools, forklifts, and banding equipment
- Follow all OSHA, site safety, and quality standards
- Participate in safety meetings and comply with data center safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Current 5G welding certification (required)
- Proven experience with flux-core (FCAW) welding
- Ability to work at heights, outdoors, and in various weather conditions
- Strong physical stamina, balance, and coordination
- Proficient in blueprint reading and welding inspection standards
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety procedures
- Strong teamwork attitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
