Staff Accountant (Hybrid)

Koniag Government Services is seeking a Staff Accountant to work in our shared accounting services supporting multiple entities. This is a **hybrid** opportunity 2-3days onsite in Chantilly, VA. As a member of the accounting team, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for significant contributions with the monthly close operations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting concepts and the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively. **Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:** + Assists with the monthly closing process. (bank recs, reconciling items, revenue and review of projects) + Record cash applications + Prepare and enter general Journal entries including reversing, recurring, and adjusting journal entries. + Prepares payroll journal entries + Updates and maintains reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and others as needed + Coordinate accounting matters with other departments. + Supports annual external and internal audit processes. + Participates in special projects as required. **Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** + BS in Accounting or Finance required. + Familiarity of GAAP, an understanding of basic accounting concepts + 1-3 years of relevant experience. + Experience with automated Accounting Systems **Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy** The company is an equal opportunity employer.
