Field Technician - Controls

Position OverviewThe Controls Field Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems used in HVAC, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and critical cooling environments. This role ensures optimal functionality of automated systems through effective diagnostics and solutions, contributing to overall operational efficiency and reliability. Some travel will be necessary Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain control systems including HMI, PLC, and BAS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC controls and automation systems.
- Perform commissioning of control systems and ensure they meet specified performance standards.
- Work with various communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus for system integration.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on critical cooling systems to ensure uptime.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree, certification or bachelors in a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in controls, automation, or HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with Tridium, Niagara, Jace systems, and BMS applications is a plus.
- Knowledge of control system programming and configuration.
- Familiarity with DCIM and its role in data center infrastructure management is a plus.
