Job Title: Construction Grade Foreman - Hampton Roads
Department: Construction / Grading
Reports to: Project Superintendent
Major Role and Purpose:
- To ensure the overall success of any job or project assigned through efficient management of time, personnel, and cost. Organize and lead a crew to perform grading activities safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate construction work according to plans.
- Assign and supervise daily activities of construction personnel.
- Coordinate and schedule trucks and equipment to job site.
- Ensure labor and other resources are adequate.
- Supervise and train workers.
- Prepare and maintain required reports.
- Assist the Project Superintendent with daily records, events, and conditions.
- Plan, assign and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare assessment of any damages and arrange for necessary preparations.
- Review, verify and submit timecards to payroll.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in highway and road construction and asphalt paving.
- Proven experience as a construction foreman.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a positive driving record.
- Ability to access military bases.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Job requires the following motions: driving, standing, sitting, squatting, reaching, pulling/pushing, and lifting.
- Required to drive.
