Job Description Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support our speech therapy program under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLPA will provide therapeutic services to clients in their homes, focusing on improving communication, language, and swallowing skills according to individualized care of plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories

- Carry out speech-language therapy interventions developed by the supervising SLP

- Assist clients in improving speech, language, voice, and fluency skills using structured activities

- Help clients with cognitive-communication challenges and swallowing difficulties under supervision

- Collect and document data on client progress towards therapy goals

- Provide family and caregiver education as directed by the SLP

- Monitor and document client progress, treatment plans, and goals accurately and timely

- Ensure compliance with all State, Federal documentation, regulatory standards, and ethical practices as well as our agencys policy and procedure for home healthcare services

- Maintain accurate records of treatment sessions and client responses

- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with supervising SLP and other care team members

- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated with the latest physical therapy practices.

Qualifications:

- Associate or Bachelors degree in communication Sciences and Disorders or completion of an approved SLPA training program from an accredited educational institution

- Must hold a valid license in SLPA issued by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology

- Prior experience in a home healthcare setting is preferred but not required

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently in a clients home

- Proficiency in maintaining detailed and timely documentation and attention to detail

- CPR/BLS certification is required

- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition

- Professional Liability Insurance or be willing to purchase if applicant is interested in 1099 employment vs W2

Supervision

This role requires an ongoing supervision by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in accordance with Virginia State Regulations. The supervising SLP is responsible for al evaluations, treatment planning, and clinical judgment.

Job Type: Part Time and Full Time roles Available

Pay Rate: $35.00 $65.00/hr and/or $70.00 $95.00 per visit. Rates are negotiable based on applicants experience
