Richmond, VA

Location: Richmond, VA Compensation: $135,000–$140,000 + Relocation Assistance

The Opportunity

A global packaging manufacturing leader in Richmond, VA is looking for an Electrical Engineer to play a central role in plant reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement. You'll work at the intersection of hands-on troubleshooting and strategic automation improvement, directly impacting production performance across a high-speed manufacturing operation. This is a role where your technical expertise shapes real outcomes on the plant floor every day.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Provide hands-on electrical engineering support to daily plant operations, keeping production running safely and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and automation issues — PLCs, motor control centers, drives, DCS/automation platforms, instrumentation, and industrial networks
  • Partner with maintenance, reliability, and operations teams to implement corrective and preventive solutions
  • Contribute to capital projects, equipment upgrades, and automation improvements across the facility
  • Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including condition monitoring and reliability initiatives
  • Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and contractors on installations, commissioning, and technical problem-solving
  • Maintain and update electrical documentation — schematics, system configurations, and equipment history
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • 2–5+ years of electrical engineering, maintenance, or reliability experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience in packaging, pulp & paper, or other high-speed process industries strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical power systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and industrial automation
  • Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in complex industrial settings
  • Familiarity with reliability methodologies, predictive maintenance tools, and maintenance workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is a plus
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to electrical standards

Ready to Apply?

If you're an electrical engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and driving measurable improvements in a high-speed manufacturing environment, this opportunity puts you at the center of the action — backed by a competitive salary and relocation support. Apply today to take the next step in your engineering career.
