Job Summary

C2 Environmental, Inc. is a small, rapidly growing business located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We focus on environmental planning, engineering, permitting and compliance services for a variety of clients including regional utility providers, federal agencies, educational institutions, local governments, and private sector developers within the Mid-Atlantic region. We are well-known for our work in the energy and infrastructure sectors where we provide a suite of services for electric transmission, natural gas, and renewable energy projects as well as coastal and waterfront facilities. C2 Environmental is seeking a qualified individual for the Engineer II/III position.

Responsibilities

The Engineer II/III position is responsible for a variety of project support and programmatic related tasks. Duties may include leading field data collection and surveys, erosion and sediment control planning, stormwater management design, report writing, hydraulic / hydrologic assessment and other office-related functions. The qualified applicant will have knowledge or experience in erosion and sediment control and stormwater management planning, compliance with state erosion and sediment control and stormwater management regulations, proficiency with CADD design for development of project plans, familiarity with various software platforms for hydraulic analysis and stormwater routing, and familiarity with environmental permitting for development projects. The position requires coordination with internal teams, project managers, and clients in both written and verbal formats. The position also requires field work and travel (approximately 10%) primarily but not limited to Virginia and North Carolina. Some overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences
• EIT certification and/or Professional Engineer registration within Virginia is strongly preferred
• 3-10+ years of experience in some or all of the following areas: erosion and sediment control planning, stormwater planning, civil site design, special use permitting, wetland permitting, traffic control planning, NPDES permitting and construction compliance
• Strong familiarity with Virginia stormwater compliance requirements including the Virginia Runoff Reduction Method and the Virginia Stormwater Management Handbook
• Experience with linear development and energy sector projects desired
• Virginia Department of Environmental Quality certified, Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater Management Plan Reviewer desired
• Experience and proficiency in computer assisted drafting software (CADD) and/or GIS
• Familiarity with Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permits
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well in diverse groups of people and without direct supervision
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote job site locations
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
