Locum Endocrinologist Fredericksburg, Virginia

Full-Time | 6-Month Contract | Outpatient with Light Call

Opportunity Snapshot:A well-established healthcare system in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Endocrinologist for a full-time locum assignment. This role offers a stable schedule, an established patient panel, and a collaborative support staff. Providers should be comfortable managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin pump management, and may assist with occasional call coverage.

Key Details:

• Start Date: January 5, 2026

• Contract Length: 6 Months

• Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

• Patient Load: 1820 patients per day

  • 20-minute follow-ups

  • 40-minute new patient visits

• Call Schedule: Every 34 months (to be discussed during interview)

• Setting: 100% adult endocrinology

• Credentialing: ~120 days

• Support Staff: Experienced team including Diabetes Education and Nutrition Counseling program

Position Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage patients with hormonal imbalances and endocrine disorders

• Order, interpret, and discuss diagnostic tests

• Provide patient education, treatment plans, and medication management

• Conduct follow-ups and adjust care as needed

• Participate in inpatient consults and collaborate with other providers

Requirements:

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) Required

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology Required

• Ability to manage Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes patients, including insulin pumps Required

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills Required

• Proficiency with computers and medical equipment Required
