Early Head Start Teacher - CDA or Child Education Coursework Req (Lynchburg)
Our Early Head Start program is experiencing exciting growth as we expand services to support more children and families in our community. As a result of this expansion, we are hiring 10 new teachers to staff additional classrooms and ensure we continue delivering high-quality, nurturing early learning experiences .
Position Title: Early Head Start Teacher
Location: Lynchburg

Summary: Join a supportive Early Head Start team where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of infants, toddlers, and their families. As an EHS Teacher, you’ll work alongside a co-teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom that supports each child’s growth and development. This role blends hands-on teaching with relationship-building—partnering with families, planning fun and purposeful activities, and helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. You’ll also have access to ongoing coaching and professional development to continue growing in your career.
Success In This Role Looks Like:
- Creating a warm, structured classroom where children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn
- Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that support each child’s growth
- Working closely with your teaching team and program staff to support every child’s success
- Building positive relationships with families through regular communication, home visits, and conferences
- Using observations and assessments to guide learning and identify opportunities for support
- Maintaining a well-organized classroom that meets program and licensing standards

What You Bring To The Team:
- Passion for working with young children and supporting families
- Ability to build strong, professional relationships with children, families, and team members
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort in a fast-paced, active environment (including lifting, bending, indoor/outdoor play)
- Willingness to travel locally a few times per year for home visits and training
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn program systems
Requirements for Consideration:
- Experience working with children.
- A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) or comparable credential with a focus on infant and toddler development. Or a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development , Early Childhood Education, or related field.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass and maintain all required background checks.
