UI/UX Developer

Are you a creative problem solver and design leader passionate about crafting smart, simple, and lovable digital experiences? NS2 Mission is looking for a UI/UX Developer to support our team in Tysons Corner, or Reston. VA . In this role, you will drive customer-centric strategies, shape service roadmaps, and optimize user experiences through innovative design thinking and front-end development.

Role Overview

As a UI/UX Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders to define a customer experience-led vision for the business, identifying the capabilities needed to bring it to life. You’ll assess the impact of your strategies, contribute to business cases, and lead opportunity modeling through stakeholder interviews and touchpoint design. Your work will ensure alignment with business goals throughout the service design process, from concept to execution.

In addition to design, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of UI/UX solutions, applying user interface & interaction design principles to build intuitive digital products. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and business leaders to translate customer needs into clear, compelling service strategies that enhance the overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead customer-centric project streams and pitches, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Conduct business analysis and opportunity modeling to identify design-driven growth areas.
• Develop user personas, journeys, and information architecture to optimize digital experiences.
• Guide the planning, execution, and synthesis of user research and usability testing, ensuring findings translate into actionable recommendations.
• Design and develop user interfaces that are both visually appealing and highly functional.
• Facilitate workshops and presentations, articulating design and development decisions with clarity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and business leaders to ensure a seamless user experience.

Required Skills

• 5–8+ years of experience delivering UI/UX design and development solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with professional design software, including Vue 2.x or later.
• 5+ years of experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills, including facilitating groups of 5–30+ people.
• Ability to provide clear, articulate rationale for design and development choices.
• Expertise in Agile methodology and iterative product design cycles.
• Proficiency in front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support UI implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Desired Skills

• Background in software engineering or familiarity with custom development practices to effectively collaborate with technical teams.
• Experience delivering design solutions across multiple networks.
• Experience migrating components in Vue 2.x to Vue 3.x.
• Ability to translate user research insights into actionable design requirements and deliverables.

TS/SCI with an FSP
