Position Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production activities within LPX Manufacturing. This role ensures products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining shop-floor oversight with planning, documentation, and coordination across inventory, logistics, quality control, and management.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, production environments, or warehouse operations, is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing people, processes, and priorities in a growing company.
Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Execution
Plan, schedule, and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production runs
Coordinate production schedules based on sales orders, fulfillment orders (FOs), inventory levels, and capacity
Ensure production deadlines are met without sacrificing quality or safety
Adjust schedules in real time based on demand, staffing, or material availability
Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise production staff, warehouse staff, and operators
Assign daily work tasks and monitor productivity
Train new employees on production procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards
Enforce attendance, punctuality, and workplace expectations
Provide feedback, coaching, and performance improvement where needed
Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure products meet LPX quality standards and customer specifications
Oversee batch accuracy, labeling, packaging, and documentation
Identify and correct quality issues or process deviations
Maintain consistency across production runs
Work with management on continuous improvement initiatives
Inventory & Materials Management
Coordinate with inventory and logistics teams to ensure raw materials are available
Monitor usage of chemicals, packaging materials, labels, and supplies
Reduce waste, shrink, and inefficiencies
Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy
Communicate material needs ahead of time to prevent production delays
Process Improvement & Efficiency
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production workflows
Improve throughput, labor utilization, and equipment usage
Help develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Support scaling production volume as the business grows
Implement lean or common-sense efficiency improvements
Safety & Facility Oversight
Enforce safety procedures and proper PPE usage
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production floor
Report safety issues, near misses, or equipment concerns
Ensure compliance with basic OSHA and workplace safety standards
Reporting & Communication
Communicate daily production status to management
Track production metrics such as output, downtime, and labor usage
Assist in reporting production data for management review
Coordinate with sales, logistics, and fulfillment teams
Required Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse leadership role
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience supervising or leading employees
Comfortable working on the production floor and being hands-on
Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, production logs, email)
Strong attention to detail and accountability
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
Experience with liquid manufacturing, blending, or packaging
Experience in chemical, automotive, industrial, or consumer products manufacturing
Familiarity with inventory systems, fulfillment workflows, or ERP systems
Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience
Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience
