Director of People & Culture
As the Director of People & Culture, you’ll be a strategic partner to Shelter House’s leadership team. You’ll guide people practices that align with our mission and values, while leading a broad scope of HR functions, from compliance and benefits to talent development and culture-building. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to shape how we support and grow our people. Who You Are

Strategy & Leadership
- Advise the CEO and senior leaders on people strategy, organizational design, compliance, and workforce planning.
- Lead the People & Culture team in managing employee relations, performance reviews, payroll, benefits, and HR compliance.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, internal mobility, succession planning, and training initiatives.
- Champion a people-first culture by enhancing employee engagement, wellness, and connection across the organization.
- 7+ years of broad HR experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- High integrity and discretion with sensitive information
- Collaborative, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented
- Annual TB test required
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to lift 10–20 pounds
- The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000.
