Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An educational position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving K-12 students on a contracted basis. This role offers part-time work, approximately 15 hours per week over two flexible days, supporting students at four different in-person locations within the Radford, VA area. This itinerant position requires travel between sites, and candidates willing to commute or relocate are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across the K-12 spectrum.
• Conduct assessments, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and implement tailored educational strategies.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and external professionals to facilitate student success.
• Travel to multiple school locations regularly, ensuring consistent service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and program activities.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
• Experience working directly with visually impaired students in educational settings.
• Ability to work flexible days with an in-person presence.
• Willingness to travel between multiple school sites.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

This contract position is ideal for candidates seeking a part-time role with flexible scheduling and a focus on face-to-face instruction. Virtual or remote teaching options are not suitable for this assignment.
