Petroleum Equipment Technician

A local construction and petroleum services company in Winchester, VA is currently hiring for a Petroleum Equipment Technician . This position is full-time and supports both construction and field service operations. Pay starts between $22.00–$28.00 per hour, with the opportunity for increases based on experience.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with petroleum equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fuel pumps, dispensers, meters, and related petroleum handling equipment, including Wayne pumps and dispensers.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and compliance standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to petroleum systems.
• Assist with construction-related tasks such as tank work, piping connections, and site preparation as needed.
• Complete service reports, document work performed, and maintain accurate job records.
• Safely operate company vehicles and adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times while on job sites.

Skills

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical system issues.
• Experience working with fuel systems, pumps, dispensers, or related equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle tools and equipment as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required (technical training preferred).
• 1–3+ years of experience with petroleum equipment, fuel systems, or related field service work.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
