Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dynamic opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve a K-12 educational setting in Norfolk, VA. This contract position spans the full school year and offers the chance to provide essential speech and language support to students across a broad age range.
Key qualifications and certifications include:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Experience working with pediatric populations in healthcare or educational settings
- Eligibility for or completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY)
- Proven skills in school-based speech-language services
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders among K-12 students
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapeutic strategies accordingly
- Maintaining accurate documentation and complying with school and regulatory standards
- Providing education and support to school staff and families to enhance communication outcomes
