Project Manager- Civil Engineering
Job Overview:
The Project Manager will lead, coordinate, and manage the execution of civil engineering projects, primarily focused on stay cable bridges, post-tensioning systems, expansion joints, and heavy lifting operations. You will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and completion. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in civil engineering, and the ability to work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage civil engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and budget constraints.
- Stay Cable Bridges: Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of stay cable bridge projects, ensuring technical and structural integrity.
- Post-Tensioning Systems: Manage the implementation of post-tensioning techniques in bridge construction and other structures, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety protocols.
- Heavy Lifting Operations: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy lifting operations, ensuring that complex lifting tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that project tasks are completed according to design specifications and schedules.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with applicable quality standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that proactive measures are taken to minimize project disruptions or delays.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, technical specifications, and change orders.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in engineering practices, implementing lessons learned and best practices across projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in civil engineering project management, with a focus on stay cable bridges, post-tensioning systems, and heavy lifting operations.
- Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of structural engineering principles.
- Expertise in post-tensioning techniques, stay cable bridge design and construction, and heavy lifting equipment and operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and engineering tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with large-scale bridge or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of international design codes and standards for post-tensioning and stay cable bridges.
- Familiarity with risk management techniques and safety regulations in heavy lifting operations.
