Program Overview

About The Role

Peraton is seeking Co-Op Engineers for the Fall 2026 semester in either our Blacksburg, VA or Herndon, VA offices supporting various government programs/contracts.

Interns/Co-ops typically represent college students trying to gain related work experience while pursuing an undergraduate degree. Under direct supervision, the ideal candidate will design, develop, and test leading edge technology solutions in areas such as cybersecurity, satellite ground systems, information management systems, cloud computing, and mobility. They will work in a collaborative, team-oriented Agile software development environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
• You are a current undergrad or graduate student and have completed progress toward a BS/BA degree or MS/MA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• You have a foundation in object-oriented development, preferably in Java.
• You have the ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
• You have hands on experience through coursework and/or previous internships.

Desired Qualifications:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• An already active/existing security clearance.

Target Salary Range: The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
