Lead Monitor Tech - Memorial Regional Medical Center

About the Role

As a Lead Monitor Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient operations of the TeleTech Station. Your responsibilities will include supervising personnel, delegating tasks, training new team members, and ensuring seamless workflow. Additionally, you will provide continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm strip documentation while collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

Cardiac Monitoring:

Provide continuous cardiac monitor observation.

Document and interpret rhythm strips for each patient every four hours.

Ensure all cardiac telemetry equipment is functioning properly and conduct quality control tests.

Notify appropriate nursing staff of changes in cardiac rhythm and document accordingly.

Check patient leads daily for any adverse reactions and ensure proper placement.

Follow protocols during emergency situations, including Code Blue events.

Remote Sitter Monitoring:

Use the AvaSys Tele Sitter Solution software proficiently.

Maintain visual observation of patients and verbally redirect them as needed.

Notify nursing staff immediately when patient assistance is required.

Participate in patient hand-off communications and maintain a safe environment.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the TeleTech Station, ensuring efficient workflow.

Supervise and train staff, delegating assignments as needed.

Plan and coordinate in-service educational programs for team members.

Handle scheduling for the unit and collaborate with the Nurse Manager.

Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients.

Troubleshoot technical issues and stay updated on new monitoring protocols.

Assist in performance evaluations and maintain necessary supplies and equipment.

Track trends in patient care and report recurrent issues to management.

What You Bring

High school diploma or GED required.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

At least 6-12 months of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Training in cardiac monitoring and documentation.

CPR certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with professionalism and attention to detail.
