Toddler Teacher
Summary Calvary Chapel Christian Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, flexible, and high-engagement Toddler Teacher to serve in our Developmental Center, supporting children in either the 16–24 month classroom or the 24–36 month classroom , based on experience and academy needs. This role is responsible for creating a safe, structured, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where toddlers can grow socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively. This is a hands-on, high-engagement role for someone who genuinely loves children, remains attentive throughout the day, works well with others, and is committed to maintaining classroom structure, safety, and consistency. Duties
- Lead a toddler classroom serving children ages 16–24 months or 24–36 months, as assigned.
- Create and maintain a safe, structured, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Provide active supervision of children at all times during classroom activities, transitions, meals, diapering or toileting routines, rest time, indoor play, and outdoor play.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that support language development, social-emotional growth, fine and gross motor development, early learning, and classroom participation.
- Support classroom routines that help toddlers develop independence, self-regulation, and positive behavior habits.
- Follow all classroom procedures consistently, including diapering or toileting procedures, handwashing, feeding support, sanitation, supervision, and health and safety expectations.
- Help maintain a classroom that is clean, organized, orderly, and inspection-ready throughout the day.
- Support developmental learning through conversation, songs, books, play-based instruction, movement, and teacher-led interaction.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding daily routines, student well-being, and classroom expectations.
- Maintain classroom records, daily reports, and other required documentation as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with assistant teachers and other staff members to support a healthy classroom culture and smooth daily operations.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support different toddler age groups or classrooms as needed based on staffing and operational needs.
- Model Christ-like character, servant leadership, professionalism, and genuine care in all interactions with children, families, coworkers, and leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with toddlers or young children preferred.
- Genuine love for children, with patience, attentiveness, warmth, and care in daily interactions.
- Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Strong attentiveness and the ability to remain actively engaged with children throughout the workday.
- Ability to follow classroom procedures, health and safety expectations, sanitation practices, and academy policies consistently.
- Comfort with diapering, toileting, feeding support, handwashing, and other hands-on classroom care responsibilities.
- Reliability, commitment, and a strong work ethic, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to arrive on time, prepared, and ready to actively lead classroom operations.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, emotional maturity, and a team-oriented approach to classroom responsibilities.
- Coachability and willingness to receive direction and feedback well.
- Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership.
- Commitment to supporting and upholding the Christian mission of Calvary Chapel Christian Academy and contributing to a Christ-centered environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift children when necessary, sit on the floor, and remain active throughout the workday.
- Experience in a toddler classroom
