Job Description: Individual will serve as a Q.E.D. Systems Naval Engineer assigned to a Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical and Electronics Design Department involved in the development of Ship Availability Design Packages, including installation drawings, work specifications, material and equipment lists, test documents and engineering calculations in support of U.S. Navy Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and ship modernization requirements. The Q.E.D. Systems Naval Engineer will report to a Q.E.D. Systems Naval Engineering Supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/skill sets: Must have a minimum of 5-years practical design engineering experience, at a professional level. Experience must include at least 2-years progressive design experience, involving design and working plan development for construction, conversion or modernization of U.S. Naval Ships. Working knowledge of NMP-MOM, Navy Ship Planning organization and processes; and a general knowledge of Government contracting are desired. Preferred experience includes engineering roles at Supervisor or Shipbuilding, Repair, and Conversion commands, Regional Maintenance Center, U.S. Navy Central Planning Activity, U.S. Navy Planning Yard Activity, Planning for Engineering and Repair Activity, and public or private shipyards. LCS and other Surface Combatant experience is preferred.
Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Naval Architecture.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
