Director of Operations

About the Role
OnPoint is looking for a hands-on operational leader to make our data processing engine run faster, smoother, and smarter. This Director of Operations will lead our data processing team, strengthen cross-department workflows, and ensure our proprietary systems are running at peak performance.

You'll be the person who keeps the trains running on time - overseeing how data moves through our systems, improving the processes that make our work possible, and making sure our technology and people are working in sync. You'll work closely with the President to turn big-picture strategy into day-to-day operational excellence.

We provide high-impact audience data, donor acquisition lists, and strategic guidance to help our partners win.

This is a full-time, in-office position in Ashburn, VA. Remote work is not available.

What You'll Do

• Lead & Develop the Data Processing Team
  • Manage and mentor a team of 5–6 focused on high-volume, high-accuracy data work
  • Build a culture of accountability, quality, and speed
• Streamline & Improve Processes
  • Oversee end-to-end data workflows, from intake to delivery
  • Remove bottlenecks, reduce errors, and improve turnaround times
  • Improve communication and handoffs between data processing, data science, sales, and audience building teams
  • Identify & Implement Automation Opportunities
• Maintain & Evolve Core Systems
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of our proprietary merge-purge platform (Data Stream) and presorting software (BCC Ignite/Redpoint)
  • Lead redevelopment of our donor management system (currently ESun) into a new, integrated data lake with a modern UI
• Support KPI Tracking & Reporting
  • Work with leadership to implement systems for tracking operational performance
  • Ensure data is accurate and accessible for decision-making
• Ensure Smooth Cross-Team Operations
  • Coordinate with other leaders to align schedules, priorities, and resources
  • Keep operations moving in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality

• Clear, reliable operational reporting that supports leadership's decision-making

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in operations, production, or process-driven leadership roles
• Experience leading technical or data-focused teams
• Firm understanding of data ETL processes is a must and previous hands-on experience with the same is a bonus
• Strong track record of improving processes in fast-moving environments
• Familiarity with data processing systems, presort software, or large-scale database management a plus
• Excellent communication and team-building skills
