Chief Nursing Officer

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide leadership, direction, and administration for nursing services in a behavioral health hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health nursing leadership within an acute care environment. This position requires a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to improving patient care and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead and drive process improvements focused on innovative care delivery and operational models aimed at enhancing clinical services, patient outcomes, safety, and throughput.
Promote the use and integration of technology to streamline operations, facilitate communication, and optimize processes across the organization.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies and procedures that address patient care needs, ensuring the highest standards of care.
Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and optimal operational effectiveness.
Take an active role in decision-making with the hospital's governing body, senior leadership, medical staff, management, and clinical leaders.
Foster partnerships with community organizations to improve patient outcomes and the overall health of the populations served.
Establish systems to ensure that nurses throughout the organization are actively involved in shared governance, decision-making, and the development of practice standards.
Ensure a seamless flow of communication and decision-making between bedside nurses, leadership, and the CNO.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory nursing role, with the most recent 3 years spent in a direct leadership position in an acute care hospital or direct patient care setting.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license is required.
Behavioral health nursing leadership experience is essential. Outpatient experience will not be considered.
