Join the premier cancer treatment center on the East Coast - Virginia Cancer Institute currently operates 6 facilities in the greater Richmond area and is actively seeking a Full-Time Staff Accountant to work with our friendly and approachable staff, physicians and patients. Virginia Cancer Institute, a well-respected medical practice in the RVA, is in the process of adding to our organization. The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate record keeping, and handling the financial accounting of Research, including clinical trial invoicing setup and following up on collections; assisting with payroll processing; assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports; support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures; help prepare journal entries and reconcile bank statements; fixed assets, journal entries, cash reconciliation; assist with payroll processing and expense tracking; ensure compliance with accounting polices and procedures; providing support during audits and tax filings.
The successful applicant should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. They should have previous payroll experience, proficiency in accounting software, and strong attention to detail. Previous experience in a healthcare setting and/or mid-to-large company is a plus.
