Position Summary

This position oversees the daily safe and efficient operation of the chilling system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure that all equipment is operating properly
• Maintain organic and NAE skips
• Maintain and monitor proper chlorine levels in the neck chiller
• Check Microtox and buffer levels in the pre-chiller ever hour as needed, and document
• Change Chlorine and PH totes as needed
• Ensure that all birds are kept pushed underwater during the chilling process
• Monitor chiller water temperature hourly
• Monitor water level in pre-chill at all times
• Oversee all 4 chillers constantly, watching for any problems
• Communicate with shackle line employees to ensure that the flowing process is correct and completed in a timely manner
• At the end of the day, must ensure that the water is at proper levels. Once chillers are empty of birds each day, put all 4 chillers in cold hold and turn off the two CAT rechillers.
• On Friday or last day of work week only, refrigeration to chillers is turned off and after 45 minutes, ensure that all pumps are turned off
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be able to work without close supervision
• Must maintain an excellent attendance record
• Must follow all safety procedures and requirements
