We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Charlottesville, Virginia on a long-term contract basis. This role requires expertise in accounting operations and manufacturing environments, including proficiency with QuickBooks and familiarity with advanced financial systems. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to the strategic goals of the organization.
Responsibilities:• Manage monthly financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and aligned with company policies.
• Perform detailed bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Analyze financial data, prepare variance reports, and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to enhance financial systems and reporting.
• Implement automation improvements in financial processes to drive efficiency and scalability.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support manufacturing operations and inventory management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by preparing detailed analyses and reports.
• Partner with auditors and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance and transparency.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve profitability.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and strong familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting systems.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Advanced knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with automation projects or systems enhancement initiatives is a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
