Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Lead to join our dynamic team at our Roanoke manufacturing facility. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, culturally aware, versatile, and passionate about food quality and safety.
The Quality Lead plays a key role in supporting the Quality Department to ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance with USDA, FDA, SQF, and company policies.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of performance and integrity for food safety.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety
- Implement and uphold QA programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Conduct on-floor inspections and quality checks to maintain adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Prepare and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA) and product specification sheets.
- Monitor, verify, and validate Critical Quality Control Points (CQCPs).
- Support sanitation activities to ensure all areas meet company hygiene and safety requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to product quality or contamination.
- Support laboratory testing, calibration, and equipment verification as part of daily QA operations.
Shipping, Warehouse & Logistics Support
- Support outbound shipments, schedules, and documentation in collaboration with the logistics team.
- Manage product labeling, pallet tagging, and warehouse organization to ensure traceability and accuracy.
- Maintain shipment records and prepare end-of-day reports for operations tracking.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Sales, and Quality teams to achieve company-wide quality initiatives.
- Communicate quality findings, improvements, and observations to leadership and team members.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and teamwork on the production floor.
- Lead by example—demonstrating diligence, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality systems, workflow efficiency, and employee awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred (not required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, production, or quality assurance preferred.
- Candidates with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn will be strongly considered.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety principles.
- Familiarity with SQF or similar certification programs is a plus.
- Food Safety Certification preferred (training can be provided).

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and climbing stairs.
- Willingness to work in a variable manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Must wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, gloves, lab coat, mask, ear protection, and safety glasses).
