We seek an experienced IT professional to join us as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, working in the Product Reliability Engineering function who will:

• Perform day-to-day site reliability engineering functions including Maintenance and incident resolution for all applications, products, and services – including debit, prepaid and risk lines of business.

• Perform ongoing/Proactive analysis of various authorization, Api and UI based applications to detect potential problems and actively engage & facilitate the discussion to find the best possible solution.

• Work under direct supervision to ensure on-time delivery of projects, and production support plans for upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.

• Work closely with service partners such as product development, engineering teams to seamlessly implement the innovative solutions to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

• Assist in automating the routine tasks and processes to improve overall efficiency and reduce human errors.

• Actively participate in troubleshooting activities and SWAT calls and drive investigation towards swift resolution.

• Build comprehensive and robust documentation repositories that can facilitate knowledge transfer among L1/L2 peers.

• Assist the team with implementing GenAI and machine learning trends to continuously optimize the application reliability and efficiency.

• Work with observability team to design and implement the modern Visa observability solutions such as Anomaly detection, operations intelligent platform (OIP), Fault Isolation tool (FIT) across all EOR products.

• Participate in on-call roster to support business including off-hours.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• Deep experience with Java, .NET, and modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, C#), including experience in business-critical, high-availability systems.
• Advanced expertise in networking concepts, protocols, and architecture - able to architect solutions for complex, distributed environments.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Chef, etc.), container orchestration (Kubernetes), middleware (Kafka, Hazelcast, Qlik), and cloud-native solutions.
• Expert-level proficiency with monitoring, logging, and tracing platforms (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Riverbed), including designing and scaling observability solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead automation at scale, build custom tooling, and integrate AI/ML frameworks for operational efficiency.
• Significant experience managing or participating in 24x7 or 15x7 shift models, including global on-call rotations.
• Proven ability to communicate and influence at all levels, from engineers to executives, and across technical and non-technical groups.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to thrive in dynamic, team-oriented, and fast-paced environments.

Additional Expectations
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive blameless postmortem culture.
• Propose and implement reliability SLIs/SLOs for new and existing services.
• Stay abreast of industry trends in SRE, DevOps, and reliability engineering - drive adoption of best-in-class practices and tools.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
