Job Description

Under general supervision, the Assembler performs tasks of substantial variety or complexity, requiring a thorough knowledge of assembly techniques, tools, materials, machines, and equipment. The role involves working from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and complex assembly, wiring, and erection of products and systems under general supervision.
• Read and interpret engineering configuration and wiring drawings.
• Devise and utilize nonstandard procedures.
• May assign and check work of lower-level personnel.
• Coordinate work with other groups to ensure commitments are met.
• Perform duties in compliance with prevailing quality procedures and policies.
• Follow standard practices and procedures in resolving basic and complex problems.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of related experience in assembly.
• Experience with assembly in a factory setting, preferably with torque tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Capable of performing wiring, soldering, and crimping tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity to handle small components and tools.

Work Environment

The position is based in Mechanicsville, VA, and requires working 100% on-site in a climate-controlled facility. The work schedule is from 6 am to 2:30 pm. No travel is required for this assembly position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
