Instructional Systems Developer
- BA required in these or similar majors: English, Education, Instructional Systems Design. Masters in same or similar fields is a plus. Additional experience in the field may substituted based upon products created and shown.
- Minimum of 4 years in the design and development of content for computer-based and/or web-based instruction using the instructional systems development (ISD) process. JKO Government internship can sub for this requirement.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to translate information into instructional content (desktop, mobile, SGST).
- Strong information gathering skills ranging from researching documents to interviewing subject matter experts.
- Ability to translate written concepts into visual representations.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent follow-up and organizational skills. Military leadership skills are a plus.
- Knowledge and/or proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years JKO JMO experience, and full working knowledge and rights to all JKO LCMS systems at the System Administrator level (best) or Training Coordinator level (minimum).
- Active Secret security clearance
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent. Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Flash, and Fireworks. Must be able to convert Flash to HTML5. We are specifically looking for use of these tools in online courseware development.
- Experience using JKO Course Builder as a content developer. Must be able to develop desktop/mobile course and SGST Scenario. All must be HTML5 based, with no Flash.
- Experience as a graphics artist is a major plus, as this gives the team more flexibility in assigning work to the new hire (a person with both ISD and graphics artistry skills will be chosen over one who has only one set of skills)
- Knowledge of SCORM requirements, standards and of DoD Web Policy, Mobile Code Policy, and Section 508.Experience in web page design and graphical user interfaces graphic design and creating imagery.
- Understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS), especially the JKO LCMS and JKO Course Builder.
- Understanding of modular design concepts and principles.
- Knowledge of the data flow process and design with databases, and Knowledge of web site development and maintenance protocol.
- Experience in training military & civilian personnel via computer-based and web-based applications.
- Experience with multimedia development software (Creative Cloud, Sound Photoshop, Quicktime, Adobe Premier, etc.). HTML and HTML5 coding, and web based authoring applications skills (i.e., JavaScript, XML, Java Server Pages, etc.) with the ability to build web pages, web-based interactive courseware, and other web-based products.
