A privately held, project-driven organization is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy and operations during a significant growth phase. This executive will play a critical role in scaling the business, strengthening financial infrastructure, and supporting long-term value creation initiatives.
The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with ownership and senior management to drive financial discipline, operational performance, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute financial strategies that support business growth and long-term value creation
- Partner with executive leadership to improve profitability, forecasting accuracy, and operational efficiency
- Provide financial leadership related to capital structure, strategic investments, and potential transactions
- Oversee all finance and accounting functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, audit, and tax
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- Manage revenue recognition, work-in-progress reporting, and contract accounting processes
- Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and compliance frameworks
- Improve project-level financial visibility including job costing, margin tracking, and performance forecasting
- Support operational leaders with financial insights, reporting tools, and best practices
- Lead financial systems, process improvements, and infrastructure upgrades to support scale
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and analytics to enhance executive decision-making
- Prepare and present financial information to external stakeholders including lenders, bonding partners, and investors
- CPA required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Strong background in project-based, contract-driven, or services organizations
- Deep expertise in revenue recognition, job costing, margin analysis, and GAAP compliance
- Experience scaling organizations through periods of rapid growth
- Prior exposure to recapitalization, private investment, or liquidity events strongly preferred
- Hands-on, strategic leader with strong communication and executive presence
