**Job Title: NDT Inspector**
**Job Description**
As an NDT Inspector Level II, you will perform Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT) inspections on surface ship and submarine structures. You will also be responsible for miscellaneous tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform physical inspections of completed welds and materials on board surface ships and submarines.
+ Work according to approved company inspection procedures.
+ Assist with reviewing and writing procedures and standards for VT, MT, and PT processes.
+ Provide on-the-job training for trainees and Level I inspectors.
+ Ensure all work is performed safely and meets quality standards.
+ Maintain clean and organized work areas, and properly care for all equipment and facilities.
+ Follow all company rules and policies.
+ Focus on details and quality standards.
+ Collaborate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
+ Report any unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor.
+ Perform other inspection, Quality Assurance, and Planning duties as necessary to support ongoing projects.
**Essential Skills**
+ Qualified NDT VT, MT, and PT Inspector Level II in accordance with NAVSEA requirements in Tech pub 271.
+ Experience with SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding is highly preferred.
+ Knowledge of welding joint design and joint fit-up requirements.
+ Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
+ Dependable work ethic and willingness to learn.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality manuals.
+ Familiarity with the metric system.
+ Ability to stand continuously for long periods.
+ Willingness to work over 40 hours a week.
+ Must pass substance abuse testing.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Certified NDT Level II: Shearwave certification required.
+ Ability to read and interpret diagrams.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Experience in reading blueprints.

**Work Environment**
Work will take place in facilities like BAE, GD, Norfolk Naval, and HII. The typical work environment is dusty, noisy, and confined. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, hard hats, and goggles are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $45.00/hr.
