Property Staff Accountant
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Property Staff Accountant in McLean, VA. Duties Include:
- Maintain general ledger activity for assigned properties
- Prepare and perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and property reporting packages
- Monitor and analyze cash activity, variances, and account balances
- Partner with AP and AR teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting
- Assist with journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Support lender and ownership reporting, including required documentation and communication
- Maintain accurate records and schedules for balance sheet accounts
- Assist with budgets, audits, and ad hoc reporting requests
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2 to 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property accounting
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, including cash and accrual accounting
- Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
