Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated Microsoft Exchange and Messaging engineers and architects with a thirst for learning, in support of a geographically dispersed, state of the art systems that seamlessly integrate Microsoft services. Candidates with proven depth creating solutions with Microsoft Windows Server will be positioned for success in our organization. The selected candidate will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise Windows Server environments. Additionally, engineers will build, maintain and migrate a variety of physical and virtual systems to on-premises, cloud, or hybrid infrastructures.
Engineers will provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites. Embracing the DevOps model, engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the entire IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance.
Responsibilities:
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing Exchange systems utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based hosting technologies
Evaluate the current Exchange environment, develop platform roadmaps, analyze system performance, and recommend corrective and preemptive actions
Administer, operate, manage and maintain Exchange components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems
Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients
Plans and directs upgrades of Microsoft Exchange infrastructure and related components in the area of Active Directory, Domain Controller topology, LDAP, Authentication Services, DNS, Permissions and Access Controls and Group Policy
Required Skills:
Experience with Exchange Server 2016 or 2019, including Database Availability Groups (DAGs)
Experience with managing mail flow in a Microsoft Exchange environment
Experience email security, compliance policies, and data loss prevention (DLP)
Experience with email encryption, SPF / DKIM / DMARC, and other security measures
Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP
Experience integrating Exchange with Active Directory, Azure AD, and Office 365 services
Experience with Active Directory Domains and Trusts
Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages
Experience with Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025
Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager and/or Forefront Identity Manager experience is optimal
Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
System configuration experience and hardening based on security guidelines, such as DISA STIGs
CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570/8140 certification
BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
TS/SCI with Polygraph
