Civil Site Design Engineer — McLean, VA 📍
Join a well-established, multidisciplinary civil engineering firm serving the Washington, DC metro area. We are seeking a talented Civil Site Design Engineer to support land development projects throughout Northern Virginia.
Location: McLean
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Entry to Mid-Level (2–8+ years)
🚧 Responsibilities
- Design site development projects including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion & sediment control
- Prepare construction documents, reports, and permit applications
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and site layout design
- Support projects from concept through construction administration
- Collaborate with surveyors, planners, and other disciplines
🧰 Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- 2+ years of site/land development experience (more senior candidates encouraged to apply)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Knowledge of Northern Virginia jurisdictions and permitting preferred
- EIT required; PE or PE-track strongly preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
⭐ Preferred Experience
- Residential, commercial, or mixed-use land development
- Stormwater management design (SWM/BMPs)
- Experience with Fairfax County or surrounding jurisdictions
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations
