Co-op, Cyber Threat Intelligence (Paid, Hybrid)
This position will deliver practical cyber threat intelligence (CTI) skills and knowledge to the co-op through on-the-job training and industry work experience. The co-op will report to the Intelligence Officer, and will gain skills & knowledge by providing support to and being mentored by staff in the following three roles within our Global Intelligence Office (GIO): Intelligence Officer (IO), Technical Analyst (TA), and Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA).

This full-time co-op position can be up to one year long (40 hr./week, $25/hr), and is part of the FS-ISAC’s “Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Pipeline” which offers co-ops training and a potential path for full-time employment on FS-ISAC’s intelligence team. This specific position offers a rare opportunity to skip the internship and move straight into a co-op role. Upon the successful completion of this co-op opportunity and budget approval, individuals may be offered the ability to join our Global Intelligence Office as a full-time Jr. Intelligence Analyst.
- Conduct multiple-source intelligence analysis on current and emerging threats using advanced research methods and analytical techniques to produce polished, actionable intelligence reports.
- Provide support to the cybersecurity and technical analysts to deliver tactical/technical intelligence to FS-ISAC members on threats to the sector and incident reporting, in accordance with FS-ISAC classification and handling protocols.
- Monitor and analyze real-time and historical information, conducting research using various sources/tools.
- Throughout the internship, develop knowledge of financial services sector assets, functions, and institutions to provide actionable intelligence support.
- Participate in information security and cyber threat intelligence training and events.
- Assist with general team management functions including scheduling, project management, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in international relations, political science, security studies, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related degree in technology or in the social sciences.
- Willingness to be taught basic cybersecurity concepts, threats, and technologies on the job and apply this knowledge to data intake and intelligence analysis.
- Effective oral and written communications skills with the ability to compose finished intelligence reports in a timely, concise, and accurate manner in accordance with FS-ISAC standards.
- Ability to approach data collection and data analysis in an objective, logical, and rational manner; understanding biases and exercising informed judgement and initiative.
- Strong time management skills to work multiple processes simultaneously to a high degree of quality.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hybrid co-op position that reports to Reston, VA headquarters (work-from-office: M & W, work-from-home: T, R, & F) . The position requires a professional work environment, and the candidate must be able to meet the physical demands associated with the professional environment.
