Job Description
As a Pile Driver, you will be responsible for picking up and placing templates for pile locations, supporting crane activities, and pile deliveries. You will inspect tools and ensure safety measures are adhered to daily. Your role will also include attending toolbox talks, maintaining a clean and organized site, and performing other duties as assigned. You will operate hydraulically and diesel-driven pile hammers with fixed or swinging leads to drive various types of piles including concrete, sheet, H-pile, and pipe pile. Additionally, you will utilize vibratory hammers to drive sheet piling.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and place templates for pile locations.
- Support crane activities and pile deliveries.
- Inspect tools and safety premises daily.
- Attend toolbox talks and maintain a safe atmosphere.
- Keep the site clean and organized.
- Operate hydraulically and diesel-driven pile hammers with fixed or swinging leads.
- Utilize vibratory hammers to drive sheet piling.
Essential Skills
- Experience with concrete pilings.
- Understanding of the pile driving process and heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and understand heavy construction plans.
- Experience in a pile driving crew.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in carpentry and understanding elevations is a plus.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
- Accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Saturday, 6 am to 6 pm . Must be available to work some days and nights on weekends. The role involves working outdoors in all elements.
Job Location
This position is based out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.
