Reach Truck Forklift Operator

Location: Prince George, VA
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

1st Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (or until work is completed)
2nd Shift: Sunday – Thursday | 5:30 PM – 2:00 AM (or until work is completed)

We are currently seeking experienced Reach Truck Forklift Operators to join our team in a fast-paced food distribution warehouse in Prince George, VA. This position is responsible for safely operating a Yale brand reach truck , moving inventory throughout the warehouse, and supporting daily shipping and receiving operations. Candidates must have previous Yale reach truck experience , along with experience in warehouse operations, material handling, inventory control, and order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Yale brand reach truck to move, store, and retrieve products throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload materials while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and quality standards.
• Support daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, replenishment, and order fulfillment.
• Perform routine pre-shift and post-shift inspections on forklift equipment and report any maintenance concerns.
• Transport products safely throughout the food distribution warehouse while following all company safety procedures.
• Accurately document inventory transfers, product movements, and location changes using warehouse management systems.
• Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and stock replenishment as needed.
• Work in refrigerated coolers and freezer environments while handling and storing food products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and company policies regarding forklift operation, material handling, and food safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a Yale brand reach truck is required.
• Reach truck experience is required; candidates without prior reach truck experience will not be considered.
• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Experience with material handling, shipping and receiving, order picking, and inventory control.
• Ability and willingness to work in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periods.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners is preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic forklift inspections.
• Experience in a food distribution warehouse, cold-storage facility, or high-volume distribution center is a plus.
• Ability to work scheduled hours as well as until work is completed when operational needs require.

Work Environment

This position is located in a food distribution warehouse and requires working in a combination of ambient, refrigerated, and freezer areas. Candidates must be comfortable working in cold temperatures and wearing appropriate cold-weather protective gear.
