Peer Recovery Support Specialist
The Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) is responsible for providing non-clinical, recovery-oriented peer support services to individuals affected by substance use disorders. Work involves outreach, engagement, education, resource navigation, and recovery support using lived experience as a foundation for service delivery. The position operates within a public health framework and supports overdose prevention, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented systems of care in the City of Portsmouth.
Requirements :
Lived experience with recovery.
At least two years of sustained recovery.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess a state-recognized Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS, CRPS, etc.)
Hours/Shift : 8am - 4:30pm with 1-2 weekends a month for community events
