Sales Associate

Job Title

Promotes and sells Core & Main services to meet sales targets and generate revenues and responds to customer needs and requirements. Maintains a high-level of customer service with existing customers and leverages relationships to expand business opportunities. Develops relationships with new clients by prospecting and responding to business development leads. Monitors and reviews customer sales activities and makes adjustments to processes and strategies as needed.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Provides full-service support for existing customer base in assigned territory including sales and delivery.
• Manages sales volume with an existing customer group and assists with prospecting to expand the customer base.
• Services and maintains orders to customers within assigned territory.
• Participates in pricing for assigned accounts.
• Works with DSM but requires autonomous decision making for outside territory.
• Partners with customers, vendors, credit, and A/R to resolve customer service issues.
• Identifies customer products needs and consummates sales.

Preferred Qualifications

• External sales experience.
• Familiarity with technical product lines preferred.
• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Environmental Job Requirements

• Typically in a comfortable environment, but with some extremes such as: moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort.
• Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking and standing for long periods of time.
