High Level Statement of the Role:

Responsible for setting up, operating, and tending equipment that blends and mixes ingredients during the manufacturing process of food products. Reads instructions and prepares products according to prescribed formulas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Mix, blend, and prepare food products for manufacture.

· Read and interpret formulas.

· Ensure all ingredients have been compiled.

· Clean and sanitize utensils and work surfaces.

· Clean and prepare equipment.

· Operate levers on equipment.

· Read and interpret gauges and temperature levels.

· Record results.

· Test data for each blend batch.

· Test equipment for possible malfunctions.

· Check for leaks, clogs, and plugging issues.

· Taste batch for consistency.

· Use paddles and agitators to mix.

· Follow recipes.

· Test products for specified flavor, texture, clarity, and bouquet.

· Check batch for proper color.

· Select, weigh, and pour ingredients.

· Determine mixing sequences.

· Homogenize food products.

· Add ingredients to prevent separation.

· Test product samples for moisture content, acidity level, specific gravity

· Ability too team lift up to 75 pounds

· Ability to operate and comprehend measurement scales and scrutinize analyze the results

· Full compliance with GMP’s and other food safety requirements

· Responsible for clean down after product and set up for new product

· When no blends are scheduled, Blender Operator will assist in packing department

Educational

· Experience working in a FDA regulated setting

· Excellent math skills – conversion of measurements
