Organization: Unity Youth Services

Location: Petersburg, VA
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: $45,000 annually

Unity Youth Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Director to lead and oversee operations for a youth residential program serving youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) . The Program Director will play a key role in supervising staff, ensuring quality care for residents, and maintaining compliance with program standards and policies.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting youth, has strong leadership skills, and experience working in human services or residential care settings.

What You’ll Do

Program Oversight

• Manage day-to-day operations of youth programs
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies
• Monitor service delivery and program quality
• Oversee scheduling and staff coverage

Staff Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and support DSPs and program staff
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching
• Ensure staff training and documentation compliance
• Promote accountability and team collaboration

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain readiness for audits and inspections
• Review incident reports and ensure corrective action when needed
• Ensure proper documentation standards are followed

Family & Community Relations

• Serve as a liaison to families and referral sources
• Support intake and service coordination processes

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (preferred but not necessary)
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in youth services or behavioral health
• Knowledge of program compliance and staff supervision
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage schedules and staffing ratios
