As the Mechanical Graduate Engineer, here's the work you'll do:

• Creating and editing drawings (CAD / BIM).
• Perform engineering calculations
• Performs selections and schedules simple equipment (example: fans, VAVs, GRD)
• Supports construction phase contract administration activities such as Submittals, RFI's, construction support, etc.
• Perform other duties supporting senior engineering staff, as assigned
• Complying with data protection principles while handling personal, protected and / or Covered Defense Information on behalf of Day & Zimmermann. Data Handlers should be trained to follow documented policies, standard operating procedures and secure practices associated with protecting trusted employee and customer data.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Position is gaining understanding of the industry and developing ability to complete tasks successfully and with progressively less guidance. Growing responsibilities include design coordination and constructability as well as gaining introduction to project costs. Participates in coordination of work with other disciplines. May be single discipline (mechanical HVAC or plumbing) focused - and encouraged to learn about entire department project responsibilities as part of career progression. Limited travel may be required.
• Gaining mastery over production processes, design and calculations tools is essential. Proficiency with drawing production software (CADD, BIM, Revit). Proficiency with calculation and software tools used in department (e.g. Load calculations, pressure calculations, etc.)
• Expected to develop competency selecting equipment and skill with system layout/design as they are exposed on a project by project basis.
• Understands contract administration project phase and is competent supporting CA efforts for assigned projects as well as additional CA efforts supporting other engineers.
• Must build trusted relationships with department through maintaining ownership for assigned work and delivering efficient and high quality results. Expected to be a proactive learner, responsible to seek out support when needed, identify expectations, check own work output against quality expectations, and pursue opportunities to grow technical capabilities. And, maintains professional humility and respect in partnership with all team members in pursuit of overall project success. Is expected to know their own technical limitations and proactively seek out support where needed.
• Ability to take direction and guidance from more senior staff within department
• Data privacy, information security and policy compliance.

And if you have these qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering
• 0 - 4 years (Positions are awarded based on staff competency, years of experience listed for reference only.)
• LEED AP certification preferred
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred or expected to obtain EIT within 12-months.
• Ability to obtain mechanical engineering license
• US citizenship required. Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance
• Great attitude and team player.
• Successful completion of drug and background screening process.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $63,840.00 - $ 95,760.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
