Operations Shift Manager (WINCHESTER)
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the overall safety, production quality, and maintenance of a particular shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise workers in various manufacturing areas - Employee Shift Supervisor- Production Shift Supervisor
· Authority to oversee hiring and exiting employees on shift – Employee Shift Supervisor
· Assist Department Head/Manufacturing Manager in establishing and maintaining employee and crew schedules including temporary staffing, scheduling vacations, and authorizing required overtime to meet established deadlines. Production Labor Supervisor
· Ensure jobs are produced in accordance with production schedules and customer requirements. – Production Process Manager
· Maintain and re-prioritize production schedule based on changes in job requirements, inputs or constraints. Production Labor Supervisor
· Supervise production output with emphasis on production, quality standards and due dates. Interact with other manufacturing personnel and operators to maximize production and minimize waste. Serve as a resource for sales and support staff; provide technical support to clarify questions or trouble-shoot problems as they arise. Production Shift Supervisor
· Maintain accurate and timely production records.
· Troubleshoot equipment, identify maintenance needs, coordinate repairs, and sustain preventative/planned maintenance program. Ensure all machine preventative maintenance programs are completed and accurately documented in a timely manner. Production Leader
· Model and enforce the safe operation of all equipment and ensure a safe and clean working environment. Production Process Manager
· Assist Manufacturing Manager in documenting and improving procedures and workflows by offering ideas and suggestions for process improvement. Aide in development and support of standard operating
procedures and ensure that all finished product meets or exceeds established quality and customer requirements. Production Shift Supervisor
· Provide positive motivation and direct/lead the efforts of the shift to meet or exceed production goals. Production Shift Supervisor
· Promote teamwork and cooperation among the crew, between departments, and across shifts. Employee Shift Supervisor- Production Shift Supervisor
· Responsible for training and ongoing development of the crew. Collaborate with Department Heads/Manufacturing Manager to conduct regular performance appraisals on all personnel, providing feedback on their performance. Production Process Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
Education:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· Solid working knowledge of the Production process.
· Good mechanical aptitude with experience in trouble shooting and maintenance of production equipment.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Must be self-motivated to lead, model and direct crew efforts to maintain schedule and deadlines.
· Must be able to read and follow directions and able to manage multiple tasks/projects.
· Must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
· Must be prompt and reliable and able to work overtime as required.
· Proven ability to organize, and manage people effectively.
· Previous supervisory and technical experience preferred.
