Information Systems Coordinator

An Information Systems Coordinator (ISC) is responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of Weapons Training Battalion’s (WTBn’s) IT needs. The ISC will create and monitor productivity plans and participate in the development and implementation of technology initiatives. They will also install and troubleshoot hardware and software, maintain proper interfacing between machines and systems, and provide training to staff.
Responsibilities for the ISC:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Project)
  • Institute and document IT requirements throughout the organization.
  • Develop and manage Microsoft SharePoint sites, libraries, and lists.
  • Update and maintain the WTBn public website.
  • Track and manage all WTBn devices using SharePoint while conducting verification of all items.
  • Provides help desk support for all WTBn personnel; troubleshoot computer systems, printers, and telephones. Support is provided through direct employee contact and telephone/remote access.
  • Repair and/or replace IT equipment throughout WTBn office space.
  • Works with WTBn personnel, other USMC departments, and vendors to develop new systems, resolve system problems, plan and schedule technology installations and ensure compliance with USMC technology standards.
  • Prepare user manuals and procedures related to information systems and conduct training for personnel.
  • Manage USMC IT security measures for WTBn equipment and personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint Online.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
Required Education and Experience
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Public Trust Clearance (T1)
  • Certification or Training: Security+ Certification (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of IT support experience
  • Experience in network management and help desk support
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues
  • Knowledge of IT systems and applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
Desired Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience with USMC IT infrastructure
  • Secret Clearance (for potential future requirement)
