Director TRICARE Health Plan DHA
The position of Director for the TRICARE Health Plan involves leading the integration of the military's direct care system with private sector partners within one of the United States' largest health systems. This role is crucial in managing the healthcare delivery to 9.6 million beneficiaries globally, with the responsibility of overseeing a budget exceeding $55 billion. The Director reports to the Assistant Director of Healthcare Administration within the Office of the Under Secretary for Personnel and Readiness. Key responsibilities include setting strategies for the client, ensuring efficient contract cost management, and integrating new healthcare business practices and technologies. The Director also oversees the development and execution of the clients policies, healthcare benefits, reimbursement systems, and healthcare program requirements, while ensuring compliance with information confidentiality and security standards.
In addition to strategic management, the Director plays a pivotal role in planning and managing a $20 billion annual budget dedicated to private sector care within the program. The position involves maintaining program accountability by standardizing medical protocols and overseeing quality assurance programs to ensure high-quality care. The Director also evaluates the performance of local and regional health plans, providing feedback to improve services. This senior executive role is responsible for setting long-term goals and operational objectives and addresses issues raised by TRICARE Area Offices, including managing healthcare delivery overseas.
