Accounts Receivable and Payable Associate
Position Overview
This position is responsible for performing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in the areas of accounts receivable and accounts payable. The candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. This role is full-time and on-site in Richmond, VA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Record lockbox box deposit reports and assemble backup documents.
· Import check, cash, and credit card receipts into accounting software.
· Update the billing database with new payor information.
· Update billing forms and coordinate the distribution of annual billing statements.
· Process refunds on overpayments as needed.
· Complete payments and processes expenses by receiving, verifying and reconciling invoices.
· Verify vendor invoices by matching them with purchase orders and agreements, processing payments promptly.
· Verify goods and services have been received before processing payments.
· Review and confirm timecard accuracy before issuing payments.
· Participate in process improvement efforts and implementation of accounting software.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma is required.
· Some college preferred but not required.
· 1-2 years' experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, general office/administrative work, or a related field is required.
