About the Role:
As a Mechanic Apprentice within the Rental and Leasing Services industry, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of rental equipment and vehicles. This position is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience under the guidance of experienced mechanics, enabling you to develop the technical skills necessary for a successful career in mechanical maintenance. Your work will ensure that all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will learn to diagnose mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and assist in complex repairs, gaining a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems. Ultimately, this role serves as a foundation for your growth into a fully qualified mechanic, contributing to the overall success of the rental and leasing business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems or prior coursework in automotive or mechanical technology.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy parts and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience or internship in a mechanical or automotive repair setting.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in vehicle maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to mechanical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Certification or coursework related to automotive technology or mechanical repair.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior mechanics in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing rental vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory to support operational tracking and compliance.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Skills:
The required and preferred skills are essential for effectively supporting daily maintenance and repair operations. Your ability to understand mechanical concepts and follow detailed instructions will enable you to assist in diagnosing and fixing equipment issues accurately. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are necessary for handling tools and parts safely and efficiently.
